Wheel rim protectors

Has anyone thought about investing or buying some wheel rim protectors? These generally prevent your wheels from being curbed or marked, which can retain the value of the vehicle when you come to sell it. I think they’re about £20 on amazon/ebay

I haven't done that yet but I know it's something good. So, I'm thinking about doing it in a few months time. The question I have is whether it's safe to buy such on amazon or ebay?
