With a hybrid system that produces 457 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, the Lexus 700h should tow like a champ! Currently, the towing capacity is set at about 8,000 lbs. That should be plenty to tow most trailers and weekend toys. I have a 20-foot all-aluminum cargo trailer from EZ-Hauler that I plan to haul my Can-Am Defender to the trailhead or my Lotus Emira to a track day. What do you plan to tow?

The Lexus LX 700h is considered good for towing a variety of loads including trailers, boats, campers, or even small horse trailers. I might try with campers or trailers.

Isn't it interesting that the GX550 Overtrain can get a 9000+ towing capacity out of a single six cylinder engine, when the LX is limited to 8000 lbs with the combined petrol and electric drive train?

Sometimes I think it's about the vehicle weight and not the powertrain.

Have you experienced the LX braking itself while backing up a trailer? Any over ride on it?

I know the new Land Cruiser and the GX550 both have that same issue.... we've posted threads about it as to how to fix it. It's pretty disappointing though that there isn't a better fix, and that it's an issue at all. (In reference to the braking while backing up a trailer).
