LX700h 3rd row seat removal - step by step

My LX didn't give and error messages. No changes at all. Be sure to plug back in that sensor thingy that you have to temporarily remove. The car might notice that.

Mark Levinson 25 speaker sound quality is horrible.

Interestingly, after about 2500 miles, my LX700h stereo started to sound fantastic. Like they added a built-in break in period. Now there is real bass. It doesn't have the all-around sound of the LX570, but close. My settings are bass+1 plus 1 notch below the center in fader control.

LX700h 3rd row seat removal - step by step

Sorry, just now seeing your post. Here is the cargo mat part number. And I added some D-loop tie downs that help keep the mat from sliding.

LX700h 3rd row seat removal - step by step

30 minutes to remove the seats, and probably an hour to make the carpet covered plywood cover.

📆 What have you done to your Lexus LX today?

I removed my 3rd row seat - see the other post on this forum topic

LX700h 3rd row seat removal - step by step

I cut the plywood to fit tight so it sits on the plastic side rails. Plus, there is a strong steel protective cover in the front center for the main cables that the plywood sits on. 3/4" plywood doesn't flex much so it seems to work. I was planning to put feet on the front behind the seats for...

LX700h 3rd row seat removal - step by step

I have no idea, but it's not part of the wire harness that controled the seat. My guess is it's a water or heat sensor.

I don't know the part number. But I purchased the mat from the parts department. They had two different ones and we tried both at the dealer. This one worked better.

LX700h 3rd row seat removal - step by step

I'm going r to use 3/4" plywood held up at the edges and evenly distributed over the battery with foam. I think that will be enough support, but I won't be hauling 1000lbs of bricks back there, either.

LX700h 3rd row seat removal - step by step

Continued - I lifted the seats onto the plywood so the brackets wouldn't scrape accross the critical power cords. Here they are gone. Now to put some things back. Bolt these brackets back with one bolt. Snap back this over plate, making sure the rubber is tucked under it. Bolt this...

LX700h 3rd row seat removal - step by step

I removed the 3rd row seat on my LX700h Overtrail today. It took about 3 hours, but I had to figure it out by myself. No step-by-step on the internet that I could find. Here's how you do it: Swing up the flap and take out the tire tools. I found they will fit on top of the battery in the...

Mark Levinson 25 speaker sound quality is horrible.

I'm going to have to add some aftermarket speakers in those 2nd row doors with the "dummy" speakers, plus a decent subwoofer. After going back and forth with Lexus USA and having the dealer check the system, I DID GET A $2600 DEALER CREDIT. When I spend money at the dealer, I send my invoice...

Mark Levinson 25 speaker sound quality is horrible.

That was a good read. The exact same problems exist in my LX700h. My biggest problem, since I don't sit anywhere but the front seat, is the lack of bass (below about 100hz).

Mark Levinson 25 speaker sound quality is horrible.

You will need to go through LEXUS USA, and probably have your truck looked inspected by the dealer. They didn't offer me a credit at first - they said how can they make it right. I said fix it or get me my $2600 back. They've been working on this credit for 3 weeks, and it still isn't final...

The Lexus LX Overtrail Is the King of Toyota Trucks: Review

It's a great vehicle. I love the dash screen that shows the gas/battery engines handing off duties to each other, and you don't feel a thing. It's everything I wanted in a truck - except the 3rd row seat takes up too much room and the stereo is weak and pitiful.
