Gas Mileage vs Gas Tank size(s):
*This time I let the "Miles Left" go to 0, the fuel light came on then we filled up 5-miles later. 292-miles CITY...16.1 gallons. 18.1 MPG. 1.8 gallons left...potential range of 324 miles CITY.
**This simply destroys the arguments about how bad it is to have only a 17.9 gallon tank. All other Land Cruisers could not come anywhere close to this range.
***I know it would be awesome to have the gallon capacity of the diesel 500h. Maybe we can retro the 10-gal Aux Tank. to the 700h Maybe not.
Bottom line: A 300-mile range for a Land Cruiser is incredible and not a negative. It's a HUGE improvement.

Yeah seems like where the hybrid system actually works well is to bring that abysmal city up a bit. Makes sense for a smaller hybrid, I guess.

Makes perfect sense, thank you for the write up.

Thanks for the note. I hooked up a pretty light boat and trailer. I think the system is coded to just dump all of the gas out of the tank immediately upon attachment of the trailer. I’ll report back when I have a full season of towing behind me, initial reports leave me thinking maybe cut those number in half unless you are going downhill both ways.

Kind of like the opposite of how my grandpa had to go to school.... up hill both ways in the snow :)

MILEAGE UPDATE after thrip to San Diego:

I-10 and I-8...75-80MPH...19.1 MPG...325 miles range (with a bit more gas left).

Driving to and from all the beaches...La Jolla...looking at homes and other sights...very low speed, lots of idling...my 100 would have got about 10 MPG MAX doing this. We got 18.2 MPG in poor driving conditions.

This vehicle has PLENTY of range...more than previous Cruisers. But let's hope we in the US can adopt in that 10-gal sub tank. I'll not want it but some will sure benefit from it.
